Sunil known as Jimmy at home and to close friends is the kind of chap who always looks ahead and stays ahead. Ever since he was born on 4-June-1957, he’s always right where the action is.
Schooling at Delhi and a 5 year stint at Aligarh Muslim University, India prepared him for a career in Mechanical Engineering. He joined the Bhilai Steel Plant in April 1980, and was Assistant Manager with the Industrial Engineering Department.

Always bouncing with boundless energy, his handsome looks and a lopsided smile have reportedly set many a fair heart a flutter. The reason for his excess energy can of course, be traced to his penchant for getting all his work done with the minimum of effort.

At present Mr. Sunil Thawani is working as Senior Manager – Corporate Govn., Business Excellence Department for Sama Dubai, an international Real Estate Investment and Development company in Dubai, United Arab Emirates.

He is MBA and Engineering with 25 years of experience, practically trained and recognized hands-on professional, who enjoys helping others to succeed.

He has assisted many organisations to enhance their business performance in terms of quality, cost and delivery and has significant achievements to his credit.

For his contribution to leadership in the field of quality management, ASQ honored Mr. Thawani, with a Testimonial Award. As Member of Jury for Business Excellence Award, he had the honour to meet H. H. Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai in 1998 and H.H. Sheikh Sultan bin Khalifa Al Nahyan. On successful completion of the tour he had the honour of meeting Late Mr. Rajiv Gandhi, Hon’ble Prime Minister of India.

Outside of the office, Mr. Thawani enjoys reading and traveling.
He has met, interacted and learnt from some of the world’s eminent management gurus like Prof. Hitoshi Kume, Prof. Nariaki Kano, Prof. Massaki Imai, Prof. Yoshio Kondo, Dr. James Harrington, Dr. Edward de Bono, Mr. Janak Mehta, and Mr. David Luther.

Mr. Thawani also enjoys time with his wife, Neha, and their two daughters, Surbhi and Taruna.
